Itinerary
This 2-day program allows you to visit Machu Picchu in a more relaxed and flexible way. You will enjoy beautiful landscapes by train, sleep in the charming town of Aguas Calientes, and visit the Inca citadel with fewer people early in the morning. Ideal for those who want to avoid crowds and walk at their own pace.
Day 1: Cusco – Aguas Calientes
- 10:00 AM: Pick-up from your hotel in Cusco and private transfer to Ollantaytambo train station.
- 11:15 AM: Board the Voyager or Expedition train. The journey offers stunning views of rivers, valleys, and mountains.
- 1:00 PM: Arrival at Aguas Calientes. Your hotel representative will meet you at the station and escort you to your accommodation.
- 1:30 PM – 6:30 PM: Free afternoon. You can explore the town, visit the artisan market, or relax at the thermal baths (optional).
- 7:00 PM: Briefing with your guide at the hotel about the next day’s tour to Machu Picchu.
Day 2: Machu Picchu – Cusco
- 5:00 AM: Early breakfast at your hotel.
- 5:30 AM: Bus ride up to the entrance of Machu Picchu.
- 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM: Guided tour of the most important areas of the citadel: Guardian House, Main Plaza, Temple of the Three Windows, Sacred Rock, Temple of the Sun, agricultural terraces, and more.
- 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Free time to explore or take panoramic pictures at your own pace.
- 10:00 AM: Return bus down to Aguas Calientes.
- 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Free time for lunch or shopping (lunch not included).
- 2:55 PM: Train back to Ollantaytambo.
- 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM: Arrival at Ollantaytambo and transfer back to Cusco. Hotel drop-off around 7:00 PM.
